Human, Volume 1
Grey Aliens discover Earth and a fledgling humanity, what's the worst that can happen? After all the Neanderthal man is primitive. Hardly a threat, right?
It’s funny to think that as stories go, this short novella/Novel is technically one of my first complete projects. I used to be like many a writer, wherein I’d start something but frequently struggle completing it. I’m glad that in more recent times, however, I’ve somewhat broke that cycle. As more recently, I completed Roswell, which is a full length novel by all accounts. Much like with Roswell, I will plan on revisiting both V1 of Human to clean up stuff and also work on V2. I guess that’s why I like serial writing, since it’s very flexible and you can a progression of a story from its raw draft to something more nuanced as time goes by. Much like with other posts like this, this page is a list of all chapters present in Human. That way, you don’t have bounce around or scroll endlessly. I wish substack made organising serial content that little bit more convenient as at the moment, it’s all sections and categories. Still I enjoyed writing this short story, and while it’s probably not immediately obvious, my inspiration actually came from Alien hence the name Human.
In Alien, a solitary Xenomorph decimates the crew of the Nostromo, so I flipped the script. What would happen if the ultimate predator, a Neanderthal man was kidnapped by grey Aliens and got let loose on their ship. To find out what happens exactly, you’ll just have to read it, won’t you. If I’m feeling generous I may even do a reading. Aren’t I a benevolent god of this Infinitum! I spoil you so much.
About: It is many thousands of years prior to modern humanity’s ascension. Earth is instead still evolving, and changing with new species supplanting the ones that came before. Humanity itself is not one at this point, it is divided and scattered. One notable variant of humanity that existed alongside us was the Neanderthal. This story inspired partially by Alien, takes that story and puts the Human in place of the Xenomorph. What would happen if Grey Aliens kidnapped one solitary human and he got free? Just how much damage can one lone hunter do?
