I'm on Episode 6, and enjoying the show for the most part. My biggest complaint so far is that the writers obviously have no idea what to do with Maximus. There seems to be no purpose to his character other than to shoehorn the BoS into the main plot.
I fully agree. It annoys me because while doing a Tales of Two Wasteland run, my character Walter Reynolds (LW) becomes a member but is still treat as an outsider so they create a rank for him called Spectre and have him go around doing work that would be a strain on their manpower i.e going to point lookout and the Pitt. They then send him back west to reunite the Brotherhood and thats how ends up embroiled in NV stuff. I feel like I put more thought into him, and my fanfic splinter group the Vault Templar than the writers did for Max and BoS. I feel like Maxson and by extension the BoS founding father would have a heart attack at the sight of this Brotherhood. They look cool but don't have the sheer presence. Though I did enjoy Cooper schooling them by playing to the weaknesses.
He was by far the standout for me. Hands down. I would need rewatch the show but I hope the Sands thing happens post or while NV is happening. I feel that it would be perfect timing to coincide with Lonesome Road. My assumption is that the 'Fall' is kind of like what I have for Roswell. It's a steep decline not quite annihilation but their shit is being pushed in.
